AI & ML

Artificial Intelligence is a pretty loaded phrase. It evokes fear in some and excitement in others. At SDS, we’re not building huge generative AI models. We’re building bespoke, directed systems for our clients. That’s why we prefer to use the term “machine learning” (ML) instead of AI. We use all the tools available to us, including integrations with large models like those of OpenAI, but we also take into account all the security and sustainability concerns that come with those systems. In the end, we learn about our clients and build exactly what they need.

We’ve developed a machine learning system that brings together feedback from both staff and consultants to identify safety issues in hospital environments. It connects those findings directly to the relevant safety standards, making it easy for hospitals to spot what needs fixing and take action right away—so risks are reduced faster, compliance is easier, and patients stay safer.

We’re building a computer vision system that automatically checks manufactured parts for defects with high accuracy. By catching issues early and consistently, it dramatically reduces the need for manual inspections—cutting inspection workload by up to 85% while improving quality and throughput on the line.
